Professional Flooring and Fitting & Supply in Surrey
From character cottages and Victorian villas in Reigate, Dorking, and Oxted to commuter 1930s semis in Epsom and executive family homes in Weybridge and Cobham, Surrey homes present distinct subfloor conditions that dictate how LVT must be installed. Thin luxury vinyl tiles mirror whatever lies beneath them; a single cupped floorboard or screed hollow will telegraph through the surface and compromise the joints. On suspended timber floors typical of Surrey's older residences, loose boards are screwed down to the joists and overlaid with 6mm flooring-grade plywood (BS 8203:2017 Annex A compliant) to establish a completely flat, silent, deflection-free foundation. For modern kitchen-diner extensions and ground-floor concrete slabs, relative humidity is verified with digital moisture meters before applying liquid damp-proof membranes and self-levelling latex compounds to achieve a glass-smooth surface.
Whether you have pre-purchased materials from online retailers or require complete supply and fit for designer ranges like Karndean and Amtico, selecting the proper installation method is vital. Floating click-lock LVT provides quick turnaround and built-in acoustic cushioning for bedrooms and upper floors. Meanwhile, glue-down installation delivers unmatched permanence and superior thermal conductivity over wet underfloor heating systems in large open-plan living spaces. Glue-down also unlocks bespoke pattern work, such as classic herringbone layouts with perimeter borders and design strips that complement Surrey's period architecture while standing up to high-traffic family life, muddy dogs, and wet kitchen footfall.
