Laminate Bedrooms With Painted Scotia to Keep
Both upstairs bedrooms had laminate flooring, and the scotia beading had been painted while it was fixed to the skirting boards. The client wanted to keep it exactly as it was, which ruled out the usual approach of stripping it off and refixing it afterwards.
We lifted the laminate panels one by one, taking care not to disturb the painted scotia, so the new carpet could be tucked in neatly around the perimeter of each room.
Old Carpet Uplifted, Floor Depinned, New Underlay Laid
On the stairs, landing and lounge we uplifted and disposed of the existing carpet and underlay, then carefully depinned the floor afterwards so the subfloor was clean and flat.
That gave us a clean subfloor for the new Cloud 9 underlay to be laid over, which is what the carpet sits on and a big part of how it feels and wears.
Gold Door Bars, New Carpet Throughout and Furniture Back in Place
New gold coloured door bars were fitted to every doorway before the carpet went in, so each threshold is tidy and protected. The Abingdon Carpets Fulham twist pile in Leather then ran through the lounge, both bedrooms, stairs and landing.
Once the carpet was down we helped move the furniture back into place in every room we had worked in, so the family could use the house straight away.
